About the Loan Payment Calculator

Our SBA Loan Payment Calculator helps business owners estimate their exact monthly cash outlay for an SBA 7(a) or 504 loan. Accurately projecting your monthly payments is critical for budgeting and ensuring you have the necessary cash flow to sustain operations post-funding.

How the Calculator Works

This tool utilizes standard amortization formulas used by commercial banks. You input your desired loan amount, the repayment term (typically 10 years for business acquisition or 25 years for real estate), and the expected interest rate. The calculator then computes your fixed monthly payment, breaks down the principal vs. interest paid over the life of the loan, and estimates your upfront SBA Guaranty Fee, which is typically rolled into your total balance.

Current SBA Loan Interest Rates

The vast majority of SBA 7(a) loans feature variable interest rates pegged to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) Prime Rate. The SBA sets a strict legal maximum on the markup (the "spread") that banks can charge above the Prime Rate.

Fixed vs. Variable Rate SBA Loans

While fixed-rate SBA 7(a) loans exist, they are extremely rare. Over 90% of 7(a) loans are variable. However, if you are purchasing commercial real estate, the SBA 504 loan offers a fully fixed rate for 10, 20, or 25 years.

Standard SBA Repayment Terms

Your monthly payment is heavily dictated by your loan term. SBA terms are standardized based on the use of funds:

Is the SBA Guaranty Fee Financed into the Loan?

Yes. In almost all cases, borrowers do not have to pay the SBA Guaranty Fee out of pocket at closing. It is automatically financed into your total loan amount, slightly increasing your monthly payment but saving your upfront liquid cash.
